Welcome to Ashen Frontiers, the story of the broken world of Pherot and its people. When The Tyrant rose to power over a century ago, he did so in a powerful arcane process that destroyed the verdant life of Pherot and turned it into ash and dust. Now most of the land is covered by a great desert known as The Ash. The Tyrant's rise to power caused the sun to grow larger in the sky and great ruptures to appear in the earth.

The Tyrant rules from his capital city of Plakos built atop a mesa and home to his servitors, the Hierants who draw their power from the Elemental Planes, the only other parts of the multiverse after The Tyrant's rise to power. It is also home to brutal gladiatorial arenas where those who hope for fame and fortune choose to risk life and limb for the entertainment of the crowds.

But there are those who oppose The Tyrant and they often gather in Eletera, a city of like-minded individuals where the freedoms of speech and association are much greater than in Plakos. In The Ash the structures that were built in a desperate attempt by the folk to protect themselves and their wealth and power against The Tyrant now lie beneath the shifting dunes and are known as Vaults, with the undead remains of those people now known as Vyrkolat. There are other dangers out there as well, such as the fire-breathing unintelligent lizards the Salapyros, the plotting and deceitful psionic Pappasül, the Diakon – once built to protect the Vaults but now dangerous to all, and more. Beyond The Ash are the Rocklands, home to the Behemoths, an ancestry derived from Humans and a now lost gigantic people, and the Bogies, a diminutive folk who call this their homeland but often live amongst the Humans of Plakos, Eletera, and elsewhere. This land has its own dangers as well, like the Pithiras – gorilla-like beats that hide among the rocks and the Chelont – a large reptile known for its defensive armour and carnivorous diet.

This broken world needs heroes. Will you join us?
